The original Rockwood Golf Course was opened for play in 1938. It was designed by Golf Course Architect John Bredemus, with subsequent upgrades by Golf Course Architect Ralph Plummer. The "Rock" Course is an 18 hole regulation course. The "Rock" is a par 71 and plays to 6,340 yards from the Championship tees, 6,070 from the White tees and just 5,566 from the Red tees. There are just a handful of bunkers and the course is a great example of the old style of golf course architecture.
